Project Wan Mai

Project Wan Mai is a student-initiated overseas community service project (OCSP) dedicated to providing services to the Laotian community.
Our team of Singapore Management University (SMU) students partake in an array of activities that seek to empower the lives of the students in Laos, over a duration of 2 weeks.
What does Wan Mai Mean?
Wan Mai means a new day in Laos.
We believe that a new day offers new beginnings and we aim to make it happen through our services to the villagers.
Our Focus
Our team aims to promote sustainability through efforts in ways that will impact the beneficiaries, not just momentarily, but also in the future. At the same time, we strongly believe that exposure brings about motivation and change, that cultivates people to strive for improvement. We want to introduce not just ourselves to the culture of the Laotians, but also the local children to the world outside their village.

We also put into focus the value of growth. Through the process of preparing for and executing the OCSP, we want our members to gain a better understanding of themselves and their purpose of volunteering. We want them to reflect on the experience as well as widen their perspectives.
